Where's Mavis? / 05.01.10 / On The Day Reminder

I Assure You We're Open!

3 facts about the last 24 hours of my life.

1) Last night I was stood on the coast, In front of me was the sea and the beach. I was stood on snow. Behind me was a closed, empty, snow covered funfair. The world was silent and periodically lit by the turning beam of a lighthouse.

2) This morning I was the passenger in a car which had to descend a slope so steep it had an emergency slip ramp. It was more sledging that it was driving. We were greeted at the bottom by the flashing lights of a police road block preventing people from trying to ascend the same hill.

3) This afternoon I hit my brother full in the face with a snowball.

These three facts tell us two things.
One, I'm really very lucky.
Two, SNOW IS AWESOME!

Snow is also the reason you're getting this incredible Tuesday afternoon message.

Many things seem to have been halted today because of the wonderful stuff; schools have been closed, offices have been closed, planes grounded, trains halted, I heard a rumour that THE TREES THEMSELVES had stopped growing in utter bewilderment at what has happened this morning. It's madness, complete and utter madness, it's just snow. Beautiful, cold, pure snow.

I write to you now though to assure you of one thing snow cannot stop...
