-----------------
I remember the first time I heard NoFX, I almost shit myself with delight. I remember buying Fat Music for Fat People because I liked the picture of the chubby fella on the front, and have it open doors and windows to new bands all over the shop. I remember my friend giving me a beaten up tape with 'Sublime' written on it and then listening to nothing else for a whole summer.
Essentially what I'm saying is, I like the SkaPunk and I'm very excited about dedicating a whole floor to it, for one night only, on Tuesday. It's always been a big part of Mavis, Capdown. [Spunge], Whitmore and 4 Ft Fingers have all played live at Where's Mavis? nights in the past, and putting on Reel Big Fish at 53 Degrees is one of my proudest moments as a promoter. Obviously trends and popularities come and go and in recent years it's been a smaller part of the night than it was 6 or 7 years ago, it's just the way things go. But it's going to be great to have another big night for playing all the skanking pogo tunes we love so much, and some new ones we haven't managed to get away with over the last few years.
Get your requests in here and now so we can make sure we've got what you need.
And don't worry if you're not a punk or ska fan, the ground floor and downstairs room will be the same great mix as ever.
Should be a jolly old night down at Method once again.
See you Tuesday!
